Reiki FAQ

The name Reiki, pronounced ''Ray-key'', comes from the Japanese words ''rei'' meaning spirit, and ''ki'' meaning energy. It is usually translated as ''universal life energy.''Reiki is an ancient Japanese healing treatment that is done by Reiki practitioners who put their  hands above the energy centers called chakras on or just a few inches above  the client's body.


  Where does reiki energy come from?
 
Reiki energy comes from the Creator or higher universal source.

 How is a treatment given?
 In a standard treatment reiki flows from the practitioners hands into the client. The client is usually laying on a massage table or seated in a chair which ever is comfortable for the client. It is performed with various hand positions and you work from head to toe and than flip the client over you than start at the head and work down the feet.   
 
What does a reiki treatment feel like?
 
What people experience during a reiki session varies from each person.  Some people report cold, heat on the place the hands are on the client or all over the body.  Most feel a light around them and feel very relaxed and peaceful.  
 What can be treated with reiki?
 
 Reiki has had a positive impact on most conditions such as mental, physical illnesses, diseases. It speeds up healing from surgeries, colds. It helps the eliminate negative side effects to depression, and  chemotherapy.  It does not replace medical conditions. it is a compliment to it. You always should go see your doctor. It is also a great stress reducer. Even though reiki does sometimes perform miracles is not a guarantee. Any positive thinking is good for any medical condition and would not hurt.
 
Does it mean I have to stop seeing a doctor or psychologist to receive a treatment?
 
No. Reiki works in conjunction with regular medical and psychological treatment. If one has a medical of psychological condition, it is recommended that they see a licensed health care professional. Reiki is compliment to medical treatment. They work hand in hand.
 
 
Does Reiki ever harm you?
No it does not harm it is always energy to the highest good.
 
Can you do Reiki on pets or anything else?
Yes I can do reiki on pets. They love the reiki energy and they will come as go as they please during treatment. They will leave when they have had enough reiki for that day.   Also you can do reiki on plants as well.  Anything that has an energy to it.
